Here at Smiths we often get asked for our own personal opinion of Tempur mattresses but also for what our customer have given us in feedback from their experiences.

I have summarized the key points of interest when choosing a new mattress from Tempur

Firstly the main concern is which unique feel is right for me.

Tempur have three main collections, the Cloud, Original, and Sensation. Each one has 3 mattresses each offering a variation on the overall feeling created by the layup and covers

Original – A Supportive firmer feel

Tempur Original Mattresses

The Original collection is where it all started for Tempur, The description of a supportive firmer feel is an accurate summary, but then there are 3 thicknesses to choose from.

Original 21 – This is the thinnest of the mattresses available in this collection and therefore offers the firmest feel out of the whole Tempur collection. This model offers a removable, washable cover and is also for VAT exemption for medical reasons. If you are eligible you can claim back your VAT by filling in and signing the HMRC VAT form here.

Original Deluxe 22 – This is the mid point mattress in both the range and the overall feel. This model is more than just 1cm thicker than the original 21, The Deluxe in the name refers to the removable luxury cover with integrated Tempur material. Although nor washable this cover can be aired, the overall layup of the mattress is also different to the Original 21 with extra support layers.

Original Deluxe 27 – This is the top of the range Tempur mattress in the Original collection, at 27cm thick it boasts of a luxurious deep removable cover, increased thickness in the layers to achieve a luxurious, comfortable nights sleep

Cloud – A Supportive softer feel

Once again the few words to describe the Cloud feeling sum this collection up. For those who desire the support provided by a Tempur mattress but would like a softer overall feel the cloud is the collection for you.

Cloud 21 – The Cloud 21 is once again the thinnest mattress in the cloud collection offering the firmest soft feeling mattress available. This model benefits from a removable, washable cover as well as all the benefits offered from a Tempur mattress

Cloud Deluxe 22 – This mattress is the mid point in the cloud range and also the most popular choice for many of our customers. The Deluxe removable cover allows for airing and provides a soft sumptuous feeling

Cloud Deluxe 27 – This model is the top of the range in the Cloud collection, Offering the deepest and softest feel in the complete Tempur range, this mattress is 27cm thick and offers all the benefits of a Tempur mattress whilst providing excellent support.

Sensation – A supportive traditional feel

The sensation is the latest model to undergo a complete revamp in the Tempur collection, The Sensation feels most like a traditional sprung mattress whilst offering the support and comfort of a Tempur mattress. Available in 3 thicknesses the

Sensation 21 is the firmest feeling model with a removable, washable cover

Sensation Deluxe 22 – Offering the traditional feel of a pocket sprung mattress the Deluxe has extra layers of Tempur as well as the Deluxe cover with integrated Tempur giving a luxurious feel

Sensation Deluxe 27 is the deepest feeling model in the Sensation collection with 27cm depth and a remoavble Deluxe cover this is the top of the range mattress in this collection
